BACnet/IP

The BACnet/IP supplement is already installed on the CX8091 in delivery state. No further installation or key input is required.
Further information on BACnet/IP can be found in the supplement description TS8020:
https://infosys.beckhoff.com/english.php?content=../content/1033/tcbacnet/html/tcbacnet_title.htm&id=

The BACnet/IP supplement can be used via Ethernet port X101/102. Port X001 cannot be used for BACnet/IP.

BACnet/IP 1:

Deactivating the OPC UA supplement

If the BACnet supplement is used, the OPC UA driver must be disabled. To this end the file TcOpcUaSrv.exe in the System folder has to be renamed or deleted. A reboot of the CX8091 is then required.

BACnet/IP 2:

Memory usage

Check whether the memory (RAM) is adequate for your application. Trend log objects can use up all the available memory. We recommend using a maximum of 250 BACnet objects. The actual maximum number may be higher or lower. This depends on the CPU and memory load (RAM) of the CX8091 and the BACnet objects used, and perhaps other factors.

BACnet/IP 3:

Recommendations regarding performance

    • On the CX8091 no other supplements such as ModbusTCP or TCP/IP server should be used. These are not installed on the CX8091 in delivery state.
    • The simultaneous use of the OPC UA driver is not recommended.
    • Do not install additional software from other manufacturers (third-party) on the CX8091.
    • If it is not possible to follow these recommendations regarding performance, it may be advisable to use a CX with a larger CPU and more memory (RAM) than the CX8091.
