Fan cartridge

On the lower side of the heat sink resides the fan cartridge. The fan is necessary to operate the unit in industrial environment. Due to the continuous operation the fan needs replacement every 5 years.

  1. Shut down the system and  switch off power.
  2. Press the mounting links on the sides in the direction of the arrows and keep them pressed
    Fan cartridge 1:
  3. Move the front of the cartridge down.
    Fan cartridge 2:
  4. Take the cartridge towards the front. The cartridge is now removed.
    Fan cartridge 3:
  5. Open the packaging of the new fan cartridge and take out the new cartridge. Hold the cartridge in front of the mounting notches. Take care that the notches fit the holes in the back of the housing.
    Fan cartridge 4:
  6. Move the cartridge up until it snaps in the housing with a click.

Operation with a defective fan or no fan damage the CPU!

 

The fan must be changed every 5 years.  Replacement fan cartridges can be orders via Beckhoff Service.
