Set up Access Point Name (APN)

Initially and once only, the USB stick must be given the access point name (APN), the access point of the network provider. You must ask your provider for the appropriate access point information. The tool Beckhoff LTE Stick is available for setting up the APN.

You can also set up the LTE stick using AT commands via a tool such as PuTTY (see: Use AT commands).

Requirements:

Proceed as follows:

1. Run the program bhf.ltestick.exe as administrator.
The tool scans the system for connected LTE sticks.
Set up Access Point Name (APN) 1:
2. If the SIM card requires a PIN, you will be prompted to enter a PIN.
Set up Access Point Name (APN) 2:
3. Enter the APN information of your provider and click on Add.
Set up Access Point Name (APN) 3:
You can then close the tool. The APN information is now permanently stored in the stick. When restarting the system, depending on the provider, you may have to unlock the SIM card again using the PIN. You should therefore consider whether you want to or can switch off the PIN. Normally, however, the PIN also remains stored in the stick. The interface is now ready for use and the connection to the Internet is active.
