Connecting cables and power supply
Notice | |
Incorrect connection procedure Incorrect procedure when connecting the cables and the power supply can cause hardware damage.
|
The connections are located at the rear in the connection compartment of the device. The interface cables in the connection compartment are routed through the mounting arm tube. To access the interfaces, you must first gain access to the connection compartment (see chapter 3.2 Interface description).
Connecting cables
Make sure that you first ground the device (see chapter 4.3.2 Grounding the control panel) and then plug in all data transmission cables.
When connecting the device to an industrial PC with UPS output, Beckhoff recommends using this for the connection. In the case of CP-Link 4, connect the CU880x transmitter boxes to the UPS output of the PC.
Connecting the power supply
There should be at least 22 V at the voltage connector of the control panel, so that the panel remains switched on during voltage fluctuations.
Proceed as follows to connect the 24 VDC power supply unit:
- 1. Plug the power supply cable into the power supply socket of the control panel.
- 2. Connect the control panel to your external 24 V power supply.
- 3. Switch on the 24 V power supply.
- You have connected the power supply.
