Definition of machining direction
Plane dependend direction of machining
In the planes G17, G18 and G19 a work piece can be processed from two directions each. The current valid machining direction must be provided to the cycle by a parameter in the call. The cycle need this information for the correct determination of the safety clearance and the feed depths. For example in the G17 plane the machining can be executed from the top or the bottom (see following figure).
The following identification numbers are to be used:
Plane | Identification number | Machining in direction.. |
---|---|---|
G17 (X-Y) | +1 | +Z (from bottom) |
| -1 | -Z (from top) |
G18 (Z-X) | +1 | +Y (from front side) |
| -1 | -Y (from behind) |
G19 (Y-Z) | +1 | +X (from the left) |
| -1 | -X (from the right) |
