Replacing the fan

Incorrect fan type

The device may be damaged if the wrong type of fan is installed.

  • Only replace the fans with replacement fans from Beckhoff Service.

The fans ensure optimal cooling of the device. Order replacement fans only from Beckhoff. Please get in touch with your Beckhoff sales contact.

To replace the fan, follow the steps below as shown in Figure 23:

1. Remove the two logo strips on the top and bottom of the industrial PC (section A). You can obtain replacement strips from your Beckhoff Service (see Chapter 10.1, Service and Support).
2. Remove the four Torx TX10 screws at the top and bottom of the PC (section B).
3. Remove the fan housing (section C).
4. Remove the two Torx screws to detach the fan from the fan plate (section D).

5. Disconnect the fan power cable from the motherboard and pull it out of the cable sleeve.
You can now replace the fan.
6. Pull the supply cable of the new fan through the cable sleeve and plug it into the motherboard.
7. Attach the fan to the fan plate with the two Torx screws and a tightening torque of approx. 0.5 Nm.
You have successfully replaced the fan.

The old fan must be disposed of in accordance with the national electronic waste regulations.
