Exchange filter mat

Notice

Risk of overheating

An air-impermeable filter mat leads to overheating of the industrial PC.

  • Make sure that the filter mat is always well permeable to air.
  • Replace the filter mat as soon as it no longer allows the air to pass through well.

Notice

Danger of contamination of the fan

If you change the filter mat of the fan while the industrial PC is in operation, the dust from the filter mat will be sucked into the interior of the PC.

  • Only replace the filter mat when the industrial PC is switched off.

You must always ensure that sufficient air can flow into the industrial PC to prevent the device from overheating. The filter mat, which is located in front of the fan, can get dirty faster depending on the environment and thus let too little air through.

According to your order, your industrial PC is equipped with either one 120 x 120 x 25 mm fan or two 60 x 60 x 25 mm fans. A PC with three 5¼-inch drive slots has the larger fan. For a PC with six 5¼-inch drive slots, the two smaller fans are present.

If you want to replace the filter mat, you can choose one of the two ordering options for a replacement mat, depending on the equipment of your PC:

The procedure for replacing the filter mat is the same in both cases. To do this, follow the steps below as shown in Figure 39:

1. Loosen and remove the two M4 screws of the filter cover (section A).
2. Remove the filter cover (section B).
3. Remove the filter mat (section C).
4. Insert the new filter mat.
5. Replace the filter cover.
6. Fasten the filter cover with the four M4 screws.
You have replaced the filter mat.

If you use the industrial PC in a low-dust environment that complies with protection rating IP20, you can operate it without a filter mat. As a result, the front of the PC is also only suitable for a working environment corresponding to protection rating IP20.
