Applicator approach
If a mains power failure is detected, axes with higher inertia are braked in a controlled manner and generate DC link energy during braking. This energy is used to maintain the control voltage for as long as possible so that a critical axis can be moved to a safe position or the IPC is shut down in a controlled manner.
To generate the control voltage from the DC link voltage, a DC/DC power supply with a wide voltage input is required, which generates 24 V DC control voltage from the variable DC link voltage.
