Device ID

The Device ID is an EtherCAT identifier that is used to identify the device in "Hot Connect" applications. See also documentation of IDN P-0-0020. In case of replacement this identifier can be stored in the AX5000 without access to the EtherCAT master with the following procedure.

Entering the Device ID

You can edit the 5-digit Device ID by entering the individual digits. The prerequisite for this is that the "Set Device ID" menu is active. As mentioned above, the display of the AX5000 displays freely configurable cyclic data in the upper and lower lines as standard.

Press the right side of the rocker Device ID 3: 4x until the following display appears: Device ID 4:

Device ID 5:

1 = "M" indicates that the "menu mode" is activated.
2 = The "Set Device ID" menu is active.
3 = Indicates which digit "X" of the Device ID is currently editable;
      in this example it is the last digit, i.e. "nine".
4 = Device-ID

You can now immediately edit the last digit of the Device ID by pressing the top or bottom side of the rocker Device ID 6:. The top side Device ID 7: increments the number, the bottom side Device ID 8: decrements it. After you have set the digit, there are 2 possibilities:

Press the center of the rocker Device ID 9: for approx. 3 sec. and you can then edit the digit to the left of the current digit.

or

Press the right side of the rocker Device ID 10:; this takes you to the "Save Device ID" menu.

Temporary memory

After you have finished editing, the changed Device ID is located in a temporary memory, which is cleared when the AX5000 is switched off. You must execute the command "Save Device ID", so that the Device ID is saved permanently in the AX5000.

Saving the Device ID

By saving the Device ID this is persistently stored in the AX5000.

If you have just changed the Device ID, press the right side of the rocker Device ID 12: and the following display appears: Device ID 13:

Device ID 16:

1 = "M" indicates that the "menu mode" is activated.

3 + 4 = Display which device ID is saved.

Press the center of the rocker Device ID 17: for approx. 3 sec. in order to save the displayed Device ID.

If saving was successful, this display appears: Device ID 18: .

The standard display appears again after approximately 25 seconds.
