Motors and cables

With longer motor cables the resulting commutation currents can lead to EMC interferences. Use the tables below to check whether mains chokes or mains filters have to be used in your application. When selecting the control cabinet ensure that there is adequate space for mains chokes and mains filters, etc.

Lay the power and signal lines in separate metal cable channels or, if both types of cable use the same metal cable channel, make sure there is a grounded separating metal wall between the cables.
