WARNING

Serious injuries due to cleaning work during operation

Carrying out cleaning work during operation can lead to serious or fatal injuries.

  • Bring the connected motors and the machine into a safe state for cleaning work
  • De-energize connected motors and the machine
  • Secure connected motors and the machine to prevent unauthorized restarting

WARNING

Risk of injury due to hot surface

During and after operation, there is a risk of burns at the housing from hot surfaces reaching up to 200 °C. Touching the surface can result in severe burns.

  • Switch off mains choke for cleaning
  • Allow to cool to below 40 °C after operation.
  • Check the temperature with a suitable thermometer if necessary.

Damage due to improper cleaning

The mains choke and its surface can be damaged by incorrect cleaning.

  • Do not immerse the mains choke in liquid
  • Wipe the mains choke only with a cloth
  • Clean mains choke only with approved solutions

Contamination, dust or chips can have a negative effect on the function of the components. In the worst case, contamination can lead to failure. Beckhoff recommends regular cleaning and maintenance of the components in a system at regular and required intervals.

As a rule, no special maintenance and cleaning measures are foreseen for mains chokes from the AX2090-ND80-xxxx series. A mains choke must be replaced in the event of malfunctions or faults.
