Risk of injury due to unsecured moving parts

Unsecured parts can be ejected from the machine during operation and cause serious or fatal injuries.

• Make sure there are no moving parts on or in the machine during operation
• Feather keys [+] are only secured during transport

Motor damage due to excessive mechanical stress

An impermissible load on the components can have a negative effect on the performance of the motor. Impacts on the motor shaft impair the concentricity of the motor.

• Do not bend components during transport or handling and do not change any insulation distances
• Avoid hard shocks to the shaft end, the ball bearings or the feedback system. Furthermore, note vibration qualities and vibration resistance
• Provide additional support for the motor if necessary

Interference to the encoder signals due to insufficient grounding

Insufficient or missing grounding of the motor can lead to interference of the encoder signals. The thermal connection of the motor flange determines the power loss.

• Ensure adequate grounding via the protective conductor or the motor flange
• Ensure sufficient grounding via the mechanical integration of the motor to the application
