Mounting motor to gear unit
- ►Carefully degrease the following components with a cloth:
- Contact surfaces with adjacent components
- Centering and motor shaft
- Inner diameter of the clamping hub
- Inside and outside of spacer sleeve
In case of motor with feather key [+]
- ►Remove feather key [+] and insert half wedge
- ►Remove the plug [1] from the adapter plate [2]
- ►Turn the clamping hub [1] until the screw [2] can be seen above the mounting hole
- ►Loosen the screw [2] by one turn
![]() | Do not exceed permissible axial forces If the motor shaft cannot be inserted easily, the screw on the clamping hub must be loosened further. For certain motor shaft diameters, an additional slotted spacer sleeve must be installed. If there is a groove on the motor shaft, it must be aligned with the slot in the spacer sleeve. |
- ►Insert the motor shaft [1] into the clamping hub [2]
- ►Make sure there is no gap between the motor and the adapter plate.
This example shows a small size motor with two mounting points in the flange, requiring two screws. For other motor sizes with four mounting points in the flange, use four screws.
- ►Apply threadlocker to bolts [1] and [2]
- ►Insert bolts [1] and [2] and tighten evenly.
- ►Tighten bolt [3]. Refer to the chapter Clamping hub.
- ►Reinsert the plug into the adapter plate.
