KL1512/KS1512 - Introduction

KL1512/KS1512 - Introduction 1:
KL1512 - Up- or Down-Counter Terminal, 1 kHz, 16 bit

The KL1512/KS1512 input terminal counts binary pulses and transfers the current value to the higher-level controller.

The maximum input frequency is limited to 1 kHz, the minimum pulse width of the input signal is approx. 500 microsecond. The counters respond to the rising edge of the input signal. This means, not mark nor space of the input signal may be shorter than 500 microseconds!

The counters react to the rising edge of the input signal.

The LEDs indicate the state of input 1 and input 2.

In the standard output format, 6 bytes (2 bytes user data and 1 Byte control/status byte) per channel are mapped. The representation of the process data differs depending on the set function.

  • 1 Byte Control/Status
  • 16 Bit unsigned Integer

The terminal mapping is described in more detail in chapter Mapping in the Bus Coupler.
