Setting important motor parameters

Note
Some motor parameters are not fault-tolerant

Incorrect motor parameters can result in damage.

  • Take care when setting the motor parameters.

The motor parameters are stored in CoE object 8010hex.

Setting important motor parameters 1:

To ensure safe commissioning, it is sufficient to set the following parameters correctly. Further motor parameters are described under CoE object 8010hex: STM Motor Settings Ch.1.

8010:01 "Maximal current"

The maximum current that the current controller outputs per motor winding.

Unit: mA
Factory setting: 5000dec

The maximum value that should be entered here is the nominal motor current. The nominal current can usually be found in the data sheet of the motor.

8010:02 "Reduced current"

Winding current at motor standstill.

Unit: mA
Factory setting: 1000dec

Criteria for setting this parameter:

  • A lower value results in a lower power loss when the motor is at standstill.
  • A higher value leads to a higher breakdown torque when the motor is at standstill.

8010:03 "Nominal voltage"

The DC link voltage UP, which you connect to X60.

Risk of confusion: DC link voltage and nominal motor voltage

  • Do not enter the nominal motor voltage here.

Unit: 10 mV
Factory setting: 5000dec
