Sensitivity of the input

The input circuit of the EJ12xx EtherCAT plug-in modules is optimized for fast signal changes and the shortest possible signal detection.

The time required for a signal change as a rising/falling edge from the pins at the back of the module to the logic of the central processing unit (ESC) is specified for the EJ12xx series at TON/TOFF < 1 µs, both for rising (TON) and falling edge (TOFF). Due to this low absolute cycle time, the temperature drift of the cycle time is also very low.

Sensitivity of the input 1:

Little or no filtering of the input circuitry

Consider that the input circuitry has little or no filtering, depending on the type. It is optimized for fastest signal transmission from the input to the evaluation unit. Fast level changes/pulses in the µs range, e.g. due to possible EMC influences, thus arrive at the evaluation unit unfiltered/undamped and are possibly visible as a change of state of the input.

  • If necessary, use shielded cables to exclude environmental influences.
